Who are The Elegant Chasers? The truth is, just like there was on the Foo Fighters debut album there is just one mastermind behind the name - songwriter, Multi-Instrumentalist & guitarist Marios Loizou. With one of several lockdowns looming and having been suddenly made redundant "Maz" “retrained” as a fire alarm engineer in 2020, a million miles away from his previous career as a TV producer. Feeling cheated, rejected & emotionally exhausted from the latter years at his former company he set about writing songs on his weekly work car journeys around a derelict London. One song spawned was an anthem perhaps fitting for 2021 - Let’s Ride. A track reflecting on the past, the present and the obstacles faced due to the political climate, redundancy & mental health, but also looking forward. Maz plays all instruments and even borrowed his kids MINI toy instruments to aid percussion, but with the shackles finally off & anxiety-levels easing he set out to create a MEGA wall of sound! He also produced, mixed & mastered the track. Is this Brit-Alternative? I’ll let you decide as you hop on board for the ride!
