A song written during a dark period where I did a lot of soul-searching, it's about trying to make the most of however bad a situation may seem. For some it's difficult, due to the cards that have been dealt and the reality may seem like a dead end. But it's a song about hope and not giving up, about trying to get rid of the negativity and dark thoughts surrounding certain situations.

Musically It was one of the first songs I wrote after the Sentimental Dust sessions, and whilst it was originally a slower, softer acoustic basedtrack, the recording was a different beast altogether. A huge bass and drum sound, a heavy riff coinciding with rhyhm guitar work featuring plenty of digital delay and an almost futuristic sounding guitar melody, influenced by synth/electronic rock acts like Depeche Mode and Paradise Lost (during the Host period in the late 90's.)
For me it was an obvious single choice, showing signs of what's to come in the future, lyrically and musically. "We all dream...we're bought and sold..." but the dream is still alive! Thank you for reading.
